Glasgow Airport

It seems terrorism has reached Scotland. We live five minutes from Glasgow Airport and the events there today have been disturbing. A jeep was driven into the door of the airport terminal this afternoon by two suicide bombers - and it seems that the vehicle may have contained explosives or gas. Either way, from what we've heard this evening, it was a deliberate attempt to cause harm and the men were probably suicide bombers. We're glad no-one was injured.

A sad day.

Acrylic stamps

I am not at all a fan of acrylic stamps (I have some, but I try to avoid them - I am a wooden backed rubber stamp collector by nature and old habits die hard)... but I couldn't resist these Sassafras Lass stamps, particularly the owls! I ordered them from eBay USA and they came really quickly (within three days). I also ordered some Autumn Leaves ribbons - I love almost all of their ribbons and papers etc, as the designs are always so eye-catching. The new French Twist range is really nice. I just need to find some time to use all this new stash... that's the hard part.
The new guinea pigs are settling in fairly well (although they still don't have names!). The odd scuffle, lots of squeaking and chasing each other around their cage - with an occasional skirmish - but otherwise fine. The small skinny black one has managed to put on quite a bit of weight this week, which is good.

New Stuff

Two more parcels came from QVC this morning. The "evidence" of last weekend's Craft Day splurge!

Eight packs of Heidi Grace ribbons (lovely) and two packs of Heidi Grace rubber stamps. The only potential down-side to the stamps is that the rubber around the images has not been cut away, which just makes them a pain to stamp if you want to avoid getting ink all over the place. (I am anally retentive when it comes to rubber stamps as I've been collecting them for more than 20 years!). It's a shame about the rubber, as the images are nice. The rubber is already stuck to the wood blocks, so I can't be bothered to try to remove it to cut the rubber back and then re-adhere. Still, they were good value at around £22 for both packs and I really do love the images.

Piggy Wiggy 2

And here's guinea pig Number 2... also as yet without a name. About 10 weeks old.

Pink Flowers

A card I made for a friend I work with who's leaving the office to join another firm tomorrow. The stamp on the right hand side is a Penny Black (2007) stamp. The die cut flower is a Big Shot "Thick Cuts" flower cut from chipboard (and chalked with two shades of Colorbox chalk ink). The card is white, but with pink chalk ink daubed over it. The flower sequins were glued in place with standard pva glue.

New Pig!

We have a new addition to our family.... well, two in fact. Two guinea pigs! Here's a photo of Number 1 (as yet nameless). He's very slender and small - about 8.5 weeks old.

Happy Father's Day

A card I made for my Dad and left at the Garden of Remembrance for him today. He was an electrician and loved his De Walt drill - hence the tag (not quite a De Walt - black and yellow branding! - but it was the closest I could find).
